Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF)

OCF meets every Tuesday at 6pm on campus at 212 Pasquerilla Center, where we have free pizza and moderated discussions. Check the OCF Web page for more information.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship is the national campus ministry of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in America.

Seeking to minister to Orthodox college students, Penn State's OCF is open to all students who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Orthodox faith, and to participate in fellowship and worship together in various activities weekly both on and off campus.

Over the years, several OCF members have gone on to seminary, and some to serve the Church as missionaries and/or members of the clergy.

To name only a few:

  • Deacon Alexander Cadman has now accepted an appointment to return and serve Holy Trinity as campus minister. Deacon Alex was active in OCF while at Penn State in the late '90's.

  • Fr Hector and Presbytera Katerina Firoglanis serve at Annunciation Church (GOA) in Lancaster, PA. Fr Hector is also involved in campus ministry there. Both were missionaries to Albania prior to Fr Hector's ordination to the priesthood in 2007.

  • Matt Groh is serving as campus evangelist at the University of Texas (Austin).

As well, many former OCF members are active members of their parishes throughout Pennsylvania and beyond. One of the most exciting developments has been our former students' formation of an OCF alumni group to support campus ministry at Penn State. Over the past couple of years they have been busy networking with Orthodox Penn State alumni, publishing a semi-annual newsletter "The Visionary", and pledging financial support for the beginning of Deacon Alex's new ministry here at University Park.

Holy Trinity is an active supporter and sponsor of Orthodox Christian Fellowship.
